Castel di Tusa is a small town located in the north coast of Sicily. It was named after the castle that now lies in ruins 600m above it. In Tusa there is the important Hotel-Museum “Atelier sul Mare”. A unique project in his style, in which each room in its complete design was created by a different local artist. Each room embodies a profound meaning that will leave the visitor amazed at the depth of meaning that each work emanates. It will be possible to visit several rooms accompanied by a local tour guide. The Atelier, together with the controversial project of the "Fiumara D'Arte", is the work of Antonio Presti, a contemporary and eclectic Sicilian artist. The Fiumara D’Arte is an open air sculpture park featuring a collection of contemporary artworks scattered along the fiumara (riverbed) of the Tusa river. It will be possible to visit three of the most beautiful and unique installations. Not far from Tusa there is Cefalù, one of Sicily’s finest beaches side-by-side with one of its greatest Arab- Norman architectural masterpieces. The piazza (square) , the streets, the little lanes and the churches of this medieval town are so postcard-pretty that it’s no wonder director Giuseppe Tornatore chose to set parts of his film “Cinema Paradiso” here. The town is perfectly suited to slow pedestrian exploration. The little port is lined with fishing boats and the lungomare (seafront promenade) is popular for its passeggiata ( evening stroll) where it is possible to admire a breathtaking sunset. At the end of the tour will be offered a free tasting of typical sicilian products.
